The team was at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to inform him of the forthcoming Healing Jesus Crusade on UCC campus .

The 9th Microfinance Conference organized under the auspices of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies has opened at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The two-day conference under the theme "The Future of Microfinance: Sustainability of Microfinance Institutions and Financial Inclusion" is being attended by players in the industry across the country". There will be presentation by various speakers from both industry and academia on various topics on Microfinance. In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K.T.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.T Oduro, has assured students of colleges of education in the country that certificates awarded by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) are internationally recognized.

“No student can obtain UCC Certificate without meeting the minimum academic standards set by the Academic Board of the University,” he explained.

The Reprographic Rights Organisation of Ghana, CopyGhana, has expressed concern about both photo and digital copying of literary works in tertiary institutions across the country.

The organisation says the practice is negatively affecting the economic rights of the creators of the works.

The Chairman of CopyGhana, Dr. Kwesi Annoh, disclosed this when he led a five-member executive board of the organisation to pay a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, at the Council Chamber.

The Agenda 2030 Committee has called on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, at the Council Chamber.

The Committee, constituted in 2015, is co-chaired by the Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Prof. Kofi Awusabo-Asare and Mr. Clement Entsua-Mensah, the University Librarian.

Mr. Clement Entsua-Mensah, who spoke on behalf of the committee, said the purpose of the visit was to introduce themselves to the new Vice-Chancellor and inform him of the progress of work of the committee.

A delegation from the University of Buffalo, New York, USA, School of Management, has called on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah.

The delegation, led by the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Research and Experiential Learning, Dr. Mara Huber, said the team was in UCC to acquaint itself with programmes run by the University and also seek collaboration

She noted that her University runs programmes such as Engineering, Education, Applied Sciences and leadership training.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Brighter Investment, Mr. Thijs Mathot, has called on the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T Oduro, at his office.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce his firm to the University of Cape Coast and seek further collaboration for sustainable relationship with the University students.

Mr. Mathot stressed that Brighter Investment, supported by the University of British Columbia- Canada, was a social organisation which provides financial support to needy students.

The President of City of Hope Cardiovascular Care and Therapeutics, USA, Dr. Collins Kwarteng, has called on the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K.T Oduro, at his office.

The purpose of the visit, according to Dr. Kwarteng, was to seek collaboration with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to set up a Health Sciences University, with special focus on training cardiovascular health professionals.

He said the visit was also to seek further collaboration to establish a Cardiothoracic Centre, which will be affiliated to the University.

The Managing Consultant of Rics Consult Ltd, Mr. Magnus RexDanquah, has said that the Ministry of Sports (MoS) was considering building a 5000  capacity swimming pool for the University of Cape Coast (UCC) ahead of the 2023 Africa Games, formerly called All Africa Games.

He said Ghana has bid for the hosting of the 2023 Africa Games and Cape Coast has been choosen as one of the venues for the Games.

Consequently, Mr. RexDanquah pointed out that the Ministry of Sports would put up a swimming pool in UCC for the swimming disciplines for the tournament.
