Vice-Chancellor inaugurates University Council approved Committees

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has inaugurated 4 University Council approved Committees, and a Team that have been tasked to perform various functions for the University. Members of the Committees were drawn from diverse backgrounds, with varied experiences and expertise which are relevant to the corporate agenda of the University of Cape Coast. 

 

The Committees/Team are:

  • University of Cape Coast 60th Anniversary Planning Committee, 
  • University of Cape Coast 2016 Statutes Review Committee, 
  • Committee on Naming of Monuments, 
  • University of Cape Coast Strategic Plan Review Committee, 
  • Team to write the History of the University of Cape Coast.

 

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor said that he and his team were determined to harness the collective expertise of members of the University community to help consolidate the gains already chalked as a University. The Vice-Chancellor also indicated that the year 2022 will be a significant year in the history of the University as UCC will be celebrating 60 years as an institution of higher learning.

The Committee’s Terms of Reference (ToR) are as follows:

  1. To plan a year of activities that will climax in October 2022.
  2. To identify sources of and avenues for funds to finance the erection of a monument to commemorate the Anniversary.
  3. To plan a programme for the launching of the Anniversary celebrations.
  4. To submit a post celebrations report to Management of the University.

  1. To critically study the University of Cape Coast 2016 Statutes with a view to improve the arrangements of statutes/provisions to ensure consistency and also clarify grey areas.
  2. To draft revised Statutes for consideration by the Academic Board in the first instance and then by Council.
  3. To submit its Report, including the Draft Statutes, within six (6) months of its inauguration.

  2. To draft a Five-Year (2023-2027) strategic plan for the University of Cape Coast.
  3. To submit its report, including the Draft Strategic Plan (2023-2027), within six (6) months of its inauguration
