University of Cape Coast Collaborates with Auburn University

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is to partner with the Auburn University (AU), Alabama, USA, to strengthen the capacity of the Faculty in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership and Guidance & Counselling.

The partnership formed part of discussions when a delegation from UCC led by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, visited Auburn as a follow up to an earlier visit by a team from AU in May and August this year. During the visit, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor’s delegation met dignitaries of AU including the Provost (who is next to the President of AU); Dr. Royrickers Cook, the Vice-President of  Outreach and Associate Provost; the Director of International Programmes and some Faculty members of the College of Education. The contact person for the UCC-AU partnership initiative is Mrs. Elizabeth Essamuah-Quansah, who is also the Co-ordinator of AU’s Outreach Global Programme.

Other areas considered for future co-operation included service learning programmes for students, research collaborations, staff and students' exchanges, summer school programmes and online instructional technology.                    

Members of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor's delegation were,Dean, Centre for International Education (CIE); Prof. Rosemond Boohene; Director, Institute for Educational Planning & Administration (IEPA), Dr. Rosemary Bosu, and the Head of Department of Basic Education, Dr. Hippolyt Angbing.
