The Directorate of Research Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) has held a research dissemination seminar for some lecturers from the School of Economics.

The research, titled: " Do Women in Leadership Affect Firms' Environmental, Social and Governance Performance? A Pilot Study of Firms in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana," was conducted by researchers from the School of Economics (SoE-UCC) in partnership with the Ghana Statistical Service, Accra, Ghana, and the University of Western Ontario, Canada,  led by Dr. Raymond E. Kofinti.

The Faculty of Social Sciences has celebrated first class students at the 2023 Dean’s Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony was on the theme "Disruption for my Future: The Emerging Issues of Jobs and Skills".

A total of 110 students comprising 45 for level 200, 31 for level 300 and 34 for level 400 who obtained Cummulative Grade Points of 3.6-4.0 received various prizes and certificates at the ceremony.

A former Minister of Power, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, has called on government to channel its focus on renewable energy to accelerate the development of the nation.

He said renewable energy in particular plays a critical role in fighting growing inequality, wiping out extreme poverty and tackling challenges of climate change.

Indian High Commissioner to Ghana Graduates from UCC 

The Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Sugandh Rajaram, has been awarded a Master of Philosophy (Geography and Regional Planning) at the 5th Session of the 55th Congregation of University of Cape Coast (UCC). 

Mr. Rajaram, who has worked in the Indian Foreign Service for twenty three years (23) years,  specialised in geopolitics.

Graduands for 5th Session of 55th Congregation have been urged to embrace opportunities beyond their areas of study. 

A total of 1,430 postgraduate degree students from the School of Graduate Studies were conferred with their respective degrees at the ceremony.

Out of the number, 11 students graduated with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has challenged graduates of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to explore and use the knowledge acquired to create innovations to benefit society.

“You are the hope of this nation. Do not allow circumstances to limit your potential. With determination, you can achieve more than you imagine,” he counseled.

The Vice-Chancellor advised the graduands not to succumb to circumstances to cut short their dreams but encouraged them to be determined in life.

The newly-appointed Managing Director of Prudential Bank, Mr. Bernard Appiah Gyebi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong.

Explaining the purpose of the visit, Mr. Gyebi, noted that upon his assumption as the new MD of Prudential Bank, he had begun interacting with notable customers and organisations that transact business with the Bank.
