Hundreds of people patronised the 2019 Open Day Exhibition held at the forecourt of the Sam Jonah Library as part of activities for the 52nd Congregation.
    
The event, which is held annually, served as an opportunity for the general public to acquaint themselves with research works, discoveries, as well as projects being undertaken by various departments in the University.  

The Health Finance Committee under the Chairmanship of the Provost, College of Distance Education, Prof. Isaac Galyuon, has presented its report to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah
According to the Chairman, the report was conducted to “review the refund policy and health financing for staff and dependents of the University of Cape Coast and make appropriate recommendations.” 

The College of Humanities and Legal Studies, UCC, has organised a ceremonial cocktail to celebrate its First Class graduands.   

The event was also to congratulate and appreciate the graduands for their academic hard work.
    

The Faculty of Social Sciences has held a handing-over ceremony to usher in new Dean and Heads of Department of the Faculty. 
    
In his acceptance speech, the new Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Akwasi Kumi-Kyereme, appealed the new HoDs to actively endeavour to include other staff to help reposition the Faculty by using innovative teaching methods to deliver. The Dean, again advised faculty members that, “Let us promptly address our challenges for efficient and effective redress.

The Confucius Institute of the University of Cape Coast (CIUCC) in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast has organised a programme to celebrate ‘Confucius Institute Day and the Third Anniversary’ of its establishment in the University.

The programme which showcased the unique Chinese culture was under the theme: “Celebrating Ghana-China relationship through cultural performances.”

The College of Education Studies has held a workshop to sensitise lecturers on the National Teachers Standards (NTS) and the National Teacher Education Curriculum Framework (NTECF).

The UCC-Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Professorial Chair of Petroleum Management, Prof. Omowumi O. Iledare, has noted that Ghana can achieve its local content policy goals for oil and gas industry if they are built on realistic expectations with already existing industrial competence and capabilities.

“Every oil-producing country is conscious of local content. The local content policy must have a goal and measurable objectives aimed at strengthening the demand of goods and services directed to the domestic market thereby expanding the local economy,” he added.

The University of Cape Coast has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) with 16 Colleges of Education as part of reforms in teacher education in the country.
