The Vice-Chancellor with the Sports Team

The Sports Team has presented trophies the team won at the 26th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games held at the University of Ghana from January 3 to 19, 2020 to the Vice-Chancellor and Management team

UCC  Sports team emerged overall champions with a total of 64 medals consisting of 28 gold, 23 silver, and 13 bronze at the Games.

The 26th edition of the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games has reached its penultimate stages in the University of Ghana.
    
After 11 days of thrilling battles between sportsmen and ladies, it is the University of Cape Coast (UCC) who leads the medal table for the most accumulation of silverware in the ongoing  Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games.

The ranking is based on the three concluded sporting disciplines – tennis, athletics, and goalball.

The Distance Education Students’ Association (DESAG) has held its 4th Annual Games in three zones in Ghana

The Southern Zone Competition was held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and featured Distance Students from the Central, Greater Accra, Western and Volta Regions. For the Middle Zone, the games were held in Kumasi with participating teams from the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Eastern Regions whereas the Northern Zone which took place at Tamale comprised Distance Students from Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions.

The 7th Mini-Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games which is being hosted by the University of Cape Coast has officially been opened at a colourful ceremony at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The games opened under the distinguished patronage of the Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, with Omanhen of Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Attah II, as the guest of honour. The competition is on the theme “University Sports, a Unifier for Post-Election Ghana”.

The University of Cape Coast, (UCC) is hosting the 7th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games from 3rd to 13th January, 2016.

The official opening of the Games would be held on Thursday, January 5th, 2016 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium at 2 pm. The 10-day competition is under the distinguished patronage of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah.
