Vice-Chancellor receives Cincinnati, Cardiff Delegations

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has received a delegation from the University of Cincinnati, USA.

The delegation, made up of faculty members and students, is in UCC to work on a project in research and engineering.

The faculty and students will work with Prof. Kwadwo Dompreh of the Department of Physics at UCC on Aquaponics and   Market pricing.

Receiving the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the visiting students and assured them of the full support of the University management.

He recalled that it was the partnership between the two institutions that resulted in the establishment of the School of Sustainable Engineering at UCC.

Prof. Boampong urged them to explore tourist sites in the Central Region and wished them well during their stay.

In a remark, the leader of the delegation, Prof. Shery Sobby, expressed gratitude to the management of the University for the hospitality accorded to them.

In a related development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has hosted a delegation from the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS), Cardiff University, UK.

The visiting team was led by Ms. Sasha Macken and Mr. Peter Hong, with six students.

The purpose of the visit, according to Dr. David Grant Robinson, was to collaborate with SOVS UCC staff and students to conduct comprehensive eye screening programs across various communities and educational institutions in Cape Coast.

For his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, welcomed the delegation and commended them for their community service in the country.
