The APAIE Annual Conference and Exhibition is one of the most well-known forums in the Asia-Pacific region for bringing together policy-makers and education experts from around the world to improve professional skills and learn about new developments in international education. The nine local host universities, led by the University of Melbourne, will welcome distinguished guests to the 11th Annual APAIE Conference from 29 February – 3 March, 2016, in Melbourne, Australia.

The Winneba Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Offei Ankrah-Badu has observed that Ghana can achieve optimum development if citizens become very responsible in whatever endeavor they find themselves. He noted that the country has been lacking behind in terms of development due to mediocrity, high level of corruption, lawlessness and other social ills in the Ghanaian society.

The Electricity Section of the University of Cape Coast has honoured two retired staff of the Section for their long dedicated service to the University at a ceremony on campus. The two staff, Mr. Patrick Kwofie and Mr. Robert Sam served the University for 35 years and 39 years respectively. Each of them received a table top refrigerator and cash as their end of service package.

The University of Cape Coast Junior Old Students Association (UNIJOSA 94) and  the 1984 group of the University Kindergarten have donated assorted items valued about three thousand, five hundred Ghana Cedis (3,500) to the University Kindergarten to boost learning at the school.

The items included a set of drums, a 32 inch LED television and Christmas package.

The outgoing Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ransford Ninson and the incoming Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Yaagy Akuribah have paid courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole in his office.

Receiving the visitors, Prof. Kuupole stated that the University would continue to partner the Police to fight crime both on campus and the surrounding communities. He noted that through the joint patrol by the Police and the University Security, the crime rate on campus has drastically reduced.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole ended his nationwide tour to institutions affiliated to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) at SS Peter and Paul Pastoral and Social Institute, Wa in the Upper West Region. Addressing management of the Institute at Wa, Prof. Kuupole thanked them for the confidence and trust they have in UCC. He noted that considering their distance, they could have chosen to affiliate with institutions closer to them adding that “You came all the way from the North to the Coast and by passed other public universities for mentorship from the UCC.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole has entreated churches that have established educational institutions to adequately provide them with the needed financial and logistic support to effectively and efficiently deliver quality education to their students.

Prof. Kuupole advised leaders of churches to avoid incessant interference in the running of their educational institutions but rather provide the enabling environment for them to operate.

The Head, Department of Pathology, School of Medical Sciences of the College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS), University of Cape Coast, Dr. Kafui P. Akakpo has stated that the quest to find the truth has always underpinned autopsy practice.
