The Central Regional branch of the Ghana Science Association (GSA), has held its hand-over ceremony to swear in new batch of executives to take over the mantle of leadership.

The programme took place at the School of Biological Sciences Conference Room, with members of the association and other stakeholders in attendance.

The Director-General of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence for West Africa at the University of Cape Coast, Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom has touted Ghana's transformative education, stressing that the major investments being made in the sector was shaping the future of the country’s education.

A Counsellor at Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), Mr. Michael Tagoe, has debunked myths that breast cancer symptoms include lumps in the breast.

He maintained that people  had been diagnosed with breast cancer without necessarily having lumps in their breast.

"Not all breast cancer cases involve lumps so clinical screening is important alongside self-evaluation", he noted.

The Directorate of Academic Affairs has organised a training programme for all Faculty/School/ Departmental Registration and Examination Officers (FREOs/SREOs/DREOs) of the University of Cape Coast.

The five-day training programme which started on Monday, October 16, 2023 is aimed at enhancing the implementation of the Academic Programme Policies and Regulations for Undergraduate Studies of the University.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has marked the 2023 World Mental Health Day (WMHD) celebration with a seminar on the theme, “Mental Health as a Universal Human Right”.

The day, an initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), was first commemorated on October 10, 1992, and is commemorated every year to raise awareness of mental health and the need for stakeholders to support the sector.

The first sitting of the first session of the 2023 Sandwich Students' Senate of the Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG), University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been held.

The Central Tender Review Committee of University of Cape Coast has toured some ongoing projects at the University. The visit was to bring the members of the Committee up to speed on the projects which are at various stages of construction as well as those completed.

The team was accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong and the Registrar, Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame.

Award winners with the Pro Vice-Chancellor and other officials of UCC

Six scholarship holders of the DAAD-funded SDG Graduate School – Ghana, have received laptops and other souvenirs to aid them in their academic work.

The presentation of the laptops was done at a short ceremony presided over by the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Rosemond Boohene. 

Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom, the Director-General of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence for West Africa at the University of Cape Coast, has been recognized for his service to Ghana at the Ghana Education Awards held in Accra.

He was conferred with the “Educational Leadership Award for Transformative Education” at the 56th National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Hand Over Ceremony and Educational Awards.
