Telephone lines for Departments under the School of Biological Sciences
It is announced for the information of the University Community that the School of Biological Sciences has acquired the following KASAPA landlines for the official use of the underlisted Office and Departments:
UPS to benefit from a building project
The University Primary School (UPS) is to benefit from a £38,000 multi-purpose demonstration building project under the aegis of the late Mr. Alan Mayhew, a former Director of Development in this University.
The Registrar, Mr. S. Kofi Ohene, who disclosed this stated that £12,000 of the total amount had been approved as seed money to start the project.
SGSR to be established
The Academic Board of the University has approved the establishment of a School for Graduate Studies and Research (SGSR) to begin next Academic Year to oversee the training of graduate students.
The objective for the establishment of the SGSR is, among other things, "to ensure the relevance of graduate programmes for the promotion of economic, social, scientific and technological development of Ghana and Africa."
School of agriculture runs new programmes
The School of Agriculture has started three remedial programmes namely, Diploma (Agricultural Extension), B. Sc.( Agricultural Extension) and B.Sc.( Animal Health).
The programmes, which are targeted at mid-career staff of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, started from May 31-July 13, 2008.
The School has since June 2, 2008, started an M. Sc. Degree( sandwich programme) in NGO Studies and Management which is expected to end on August 2, 2008.
Ghana School Aid supports UCC
The Registrar, Mr. S. Kofi Ohene has, on behalf of the Ghana School Aid (GSA) a U.K. Trust, donated assorted books to the University at a brief ceremony held at his residence.
The University Library, the University Junior High School and the University Primary School were the beneficiaries of the donation.
