The Chairman of the University Council receiving the reports from the Chairmen of the two search committees
The two committees that were constituted to recommend the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, have officially submitted their report to the Chairman of the University Council,Justice A. K. B. Ampiah (rtd) at a short ceremony held at the UCC Guest House in Tesano, Accra.
Receiving the reports on behalf of the University Council, His Lordship, Justice A. K. B. Ampiah (rtd) commended the two committees for working diligently within their mandate. He assured them that their recommendations would be considered by the University Council and then eventually communicated to the University Community.
On behalf of the two search committees, Prof. Akilagpa Sawyer, Chairman of the committee for the appointment of Vice-Chancellor and a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, expressed gratitude to the University Council for the confidence reposed in them. He expressed the hope that the University Council would also take into consideration the recommendations that had been made in the two different reports.
It will be recalled that the Chairman of the UCC Council Justice A. K. B. Ampiah (rtd) inaugurated two search committees for the appointment of a new UCC Vice-Chancellor and Registrar at the Academic Board Chamber, North Campus in accordance with Statutes 9.16, 17 and 11.6,7 respectively of the University of Cape Coast Statutes, 2012.
Present at the function were the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang; Registrar, Dr. Isaac Ohene; Chairman of the Committee for the appointment of Registrar, Mr. George Francis Daniel, former Registrar, University of Ghana. Others were the Secretary for the appointment of Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Isaac Baafi-Sarbeng, Senior Assistant Registrar (Division of Human Resource) and the Secretary for the Committee of the appointment of Registrar; Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd), Senior Assistant Registrar (Division of Public Affairs) and the Deputy Finance Officer, Mrs. Elizabeth Obese.
