The Vice-Chancellor in a discussion with officials from USDA
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has strengthened the already existing collaboration with UCC in the implementation of the Monitoring Evaluation & Technical Support Services (METTS).
In pursuance to this objective, a delegation from USDA comprising the International Agricultural Development Specialist, Harold V. Tarver and International Agricultural Programme Specialist called on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang at her office. The discussion centered on how the two partners could engage each other without a third party in the implementation of the METTS Project.
Mr. Tarver indicated that initially, the Louisiana State University in the United States of America was engaged by USDA to partner UCC for the execution of the project which encountered some form of set-backs. He said this had compelled USDA to enter into direct partnership with UCC.
The Vice-Chancellor indicated that UCC would always welcome partnership that aimed at building a healthy relationship between UCC and its partners. She called on USDA to fulfill its part of the agreement so that the project could achieve its objective.
