“Learning through play in early childhood is the best foundation for success in school”, Dr. (Mrs.) Kafui Estey, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Basic Education noted this at the graduation ceremony for 140 K.G. 2 pupils at the University Kindergarten.

Dr. Estey entreated teachers and parents to give their children quality childhood care and education characterized by entertaining activities which would provide the best start for their academic life. She was optimistic that the University K.G. would continue to create a friendly atmosphere for teaching and learning for the pupils to contribute to the overall development of the nation.

The headteacher of the University K.G. , Ms. Adwoa Ewur, noted that there had been significant developments in the school which  had contributed to academic work in the school. While applauding the staff, she noted that “teaching and non-teaching staff had contributed greatly in harnessing the talents of the pupils by exhibiting quality leadership.” She called for assistance from the University Management and the parents for additional classroom blocks and other teaching and learning materials.

The exceptional knowledge of the pupils was exhibited when they thrilled parents and guests who attended the event with activities like recitals, singing, dancing, among other entertaining but educative games. A total of 40 pupils were awarded for varying distinct qualities in class. Some outstanding staff and parents were honoured at the function.
