Oguaa Hall Launches 50th Anniversary Celebration

Oguaa Hall has launched its 50th anniversary celebration on the theme “Oguaa Hall, Our Heritage, Our Pride: The Way Forward.”

The Premier Hall of the University of Cape Coast, Oguaa Hall has launched its 50th anniversary celebration on the theme “Oguaa Hall, Our Heritage, Our Pride: The Way Forward.”

In an address at the function, the Chairman of the function, Alhaji M. N. D Jawula noted that the hall had produced notable personalities who were in diverse professions in Africa and the World. He called on the students to emulate the shining examples of their predecessors to project the highly reputable name of the hall and noted that “You need to be inspired by this useful insight which will guide you in shaping your future goals and objectives”.

Alhaji Jawula who is also an alumnus of the hall expressed gratitude to the hall for its contribution to his career and personal lifestyle. He finally praised the Hall Administration and Junior Common Room Committee for the significant infrastructural transformation of the hall.

The Hall master, Dr. Koawo Edjah enumerated some of the achievements of the hall which included the purchase of a 33-seater bus, restaurant, a modern hair salon, new offices for staff and hall executives. He also mentioned alumni home-coming, lectures, exhibition, food bazaar and a grand durbar as activities for the celebration.

Some past students notably, Prof. Theophilus Ossei-Anto and Prof. Awusabo Asare of the hall recounted interesting memories during their period.

Present at the function were past and present hallers and members of the University community.
