The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole leading the discussion at the meeting
The University of Cape Coast (UCC), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Kansas University (KSU) in the United States of America are developing a Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) for the Monitoring, Evaluation and Technical Support Services Programme (METTS).
To this end, a delegation from the USDA and KSU visited UCC and had discussions with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole at the Council Chamber, South Campus.
The leader of the delegation, the Programme Manager of METTS, Mr. Harold V. Tarver, indicated that the DIP would create opportunities for the engagement of UCC faculty to be deeply involved in research areas that were relevant to the METTS Programme. Additionally, the USDA would also work ensure that it worked closer with UCC to ensure that both parties enjoyed the fruits of the project.
Responding, Prof. Kuupole expressed appreciation to the officials from USDA for developing a funding plan for the programme. He also noted that UCC would fulfill its part of the collaboration by providing the necessary human resources for the successful execution of the programme.
Present at the meeting were the Registrar, Dr. Isaac Ohene and other members of UCC Management.
