IEPA-CIS-VU Project To Be Completed
The final phase of a three-year project dubbed “Building Managerial and Leadership Capacity in Polytechnics in Ghana” is nearing completion.
The project is being managed through a co-operation between the Centre for International Co-operation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (CIS-VU), and the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), UCC.
Disadvantaged Students To Use ICT Facilities
With effect from this academic year, physically challenged, visually impaired, low vision students on/off campus, distant learners and able students would be able to access different sources of information from computers in the Library.
This has been made possible due to an ICT facility being installed in the University Library with the view to providing information accessibility and facilitate information gathering for all categories of students, both at UCC and elsewhere.
Canadian Proffessor Donates to UCC
A visiting Canadian Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (DCSIT), Professor Stephen Chen has donated books and computer accessories valued at GH¢ 2500 to the University.
The items comprised 20 books, 10 computer cards, and 150 memory cards.
Medical And Dental Council Satisfied With UCC Medical School
The Ghana Medical and Dental Council has given the nod to authorities of this University to commence the training of medical doctors at the School of Medical Sciences (UCCSMS).This follows the Council’s satisfaction with the facilities and other structures put in place by the UCCSMS to start running the programme.

The newly-appointed Managing Director of the Daily Graphic, Mr. Ibrahim Awal, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. E. A. Obeng and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Yakubu. UCC and BUK sign MOU
A four-member team from Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Nigeria, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor to discuss and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in respect of bilateral relations between the two universities.
Dr. Ntifo-Siaw Appointed Chairman of Rural Bank
Dr. Edward Ntifo-Siaw, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics and Agricultural Extension (UCC) has recently been appointed as the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of the Asuopra Rural Bank Limited in the Eastern Region.
Dr. Ntifo-Siaw is also the General Manager of Megyefo Plantations near Kade, and in 2004, won the Best National Oil Palm Farmer’s Award.
Scientist Without Borders Interacts With UCC
The Executive Director of Scientists Without Borders (SWB), Dr. Evelyn Strauss, has interacted with a section of the University Staff to explain the aims of the group’s project.
Refurbished Casford Hall Re-dedicated
The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. E. A. Obeng has re-dedicated the four billion cedis refurbished Casely Hayford Ha1. In an extempore address at the brief ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor cautioned students who have the tendency to destroy any hall property to desist from such untoward actions because of its serious repercussions.
Onetouch Gives Hotlines To UCC Security
The joint Patrol Team of Campus Security and the Cape Coast Police Service has been provided with five emergency numbers which members of the University Community could call for immediate assistance in times of danger.
