Two Search committees Inaugurated.

The Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Charles Mensa, has inaugurated two Search Committees for the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor and a Registrar during a Council meeting held at the Council Chamber.

Dr. Charles Mensa who presided over the meeting quoted relevant portions of the University Statutes as points of reference and advised members of the two committees to be conscious of the basic criteria for selecting prospective candidates. He noted that the criteria included outstanding academic record, integrity, communication skills, zeal and energy, the capacity for mobilizing resources and providing external and internal cohesion and most of all, visionary leadership.

The Chairman expressed satisfaction at the appointment of members of the committees and indicated his firm conviction and confidence that they will carry out their work diligently.

A former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ivan Adae Mensah, who spoke on behalf of the two committees said, that though they had been offered an onerous task, members of the Committees would ensure confidentiality and delivery of results, regardless of the nature of the task.

The Search Committee for the Vice-Chancellor include Prof. Adae Mensah as Chairman; Most Rev. Dr. Asante Antwi, Member of Council, UCC; Nana Kusi-Appiah, Member of Council, UCC; Prof. D. K. Agyeman, Department of Sociology; Dr. K. A. Monney, Head of Science and Mathematics Education, and Mr. J. K. Nyan as Secretary. Members of the Committee for the Registrar also had Mr. Paul Effah, Member of Council, UCC, as Chairman; Mr. George Donkor, Member of Council, UCC; Mrs. Elizabeth Villars, Member of Council, UCC; Mrs. Sophia Quarshie Sam, Vice Rector, Institute for Advance ICT Studies, Kumasi; Mr. Edward Marfo-Yiadom, Dean, School of Business; Rev. Prof. B.A. Ntreh, Head, Religious Studies and Human Values, and Dr. E. O. Agyenim-Boateng as Secretary.
