Scientist Without Borders Interacts With UCC

The Executive Director of Scientists Without Borders (SWB), Dr. Evelyn Strauss, has interacted with a section of the University Staff to explain the aims of the group’s project.

Scientists Without Borders is a project conceived by the New York Academy of Sciences and the UN Millennium Project which aims at mobilizing and coordinating science-based activities that would help improve the quality of life in the developing world. According to Dr. Strauss, Ghana has been chosen as the pilot country primarily because of the relative stability in the country. She urged individuals and members of the academia to subscribe to the project by adding their personal and organizational information to the database on their website: www.nyas.org/swb.

Participants of the interaction included the Dean of the School of Physical Sciences, Prof. S. Y. Mensah, Dean of Graduate Studies, Prof. (Mrs.) Naana J. Opoku Agycmang, Vice-Dean of the School of Agriculture, Prof. J. A. Kwarteng, and other Senior Members of the University.
