Vice-chancellor Commissions Study Pavilions

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. E.A. Obeng has commissioned 12 study pavilions which the SRC has constructed at the cost of GH¢36,400.00 at the South and North Campuses of the University.

The study pavilions were intended to enhance learning on the part of students.

Commissioning the project, Rev. Prof. Obeng said that the construction of the study pavilions was a good idea and it was a sign of good leadership on the part of the SRC. He expressed appreciation on behalf of the University Management to the SRC for complementing the University's efforts at promoting teaching and learning on campus.

The Vice-Chancellor urged the SRC to work together with the University Management to enhance the progress of the University.

Earlier, the out-going SRC President, Mr. Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi said, that the construction of the pavilion formed part of the SRC's plans when the executive assumed office for the 2007/2008 academic year. Mr. Boadi-Kusi explained that since the study-centres on campus were inadequate, the SRC immediately decided to build more to enable the students to have alternative places to learn with ease.

The President stated that the SRC had other plans ready for implementation and expressed the hope that the new cream of students' leadership for the 2008/2009 academic year would take them up.

Rev. Dr. E. B. Anum, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Religion and Human Values dedicated the pavilions to the Almighty God.
