NPT 045 Project how-cased in the netherlands
The NPT-045 project has been show-cased in the Netherlands as one of the most successful African-based NUFFIC - funded projects during the 2005 -2008 project year.
The Local Secretary of the project, Mr. Yaw Anwhere, Assistant Registrar, IEPA was specially commended for his organizational efficiency. The commendation came from Drs. Kees van Dongen, Director of the Centre for International Development (CID) of the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam.
The project which is jointly undertaken by the Institute for Educational Planning & Administration (IEPA) and the Centre for International Development (CID) of the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam has, through a number of competency-based training activities, strengthened the Leadership and Management capacity of Rectors, Secretaries, Deans and Departmental Heads of the 10 Polytechnics in Ghana.
It has also offered scholarships to two members of the University of Cape Coast to pursue Ph.D degree programmes at the University of Twente. Ten members of the Polytechnics have also been sponsored to undertake Masters degree programmes in the Netherlands.
In addition to these staff capacity building activities, the project has established a networked resource centre for the IEPA.
