IEPA-CIS-VU Project To Be Completed

The final phase of a three-year project dubbed “Building Managerial and Leadership Capacity in Polytechnics in Ghana” is nearing completion.

The project is being managed through a co-operation between the Centre for International Co-operation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (CIS-VU), and the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), UCC.

According to the Assistant Registrar of the Institute, Mr. Y. M. Anhwere, the project, which started in December, 2004 is expected to be completed by November this year.

He said the project is made up of four sub-projects, that is (i) Training of top level management of polytechnics (ii) Training tracks for middle management polytechnics both academic and non-academic (iii) Curriculum renewal and capacity building of the IEPA to enable it run short courses in Master’s and Doctoral programmes (iv) the Development of ICT infrastructure in selected polytechnics and educational equipment for IEPA.

The entire project, which is sponsored by the Netherlands Organisation for International Co-operation in Higher Education (NUFFIC), has the University of Twente and Maastricht School of Management as collaborators.
