RE-OPENING OF CASELY HAYFORD HALL
At a special meeting held on Friday, July 11, 2008, the Executive Committee of the Academic Board considered the report of the ad hoc Committee set up to investigate the disturbances by students of Casely Hayford Hall and the subsequent closure of the Hall.The following decisions were taken:- That Casely Hayford Hall should be re-opened on Saturday, August 2, 2008 to receive fresh students.
- That the Hall Master, the Hall Council and other staff/workers of the Hall should be recalled to resume duty.
- That the Hall Council, with the support of the Office of the Dean of Students, should arrange to conduct elections for the Executives of the Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC)for the 2008/2009 Academic Year.
- That the Hall Administration should appoint three (3) of the Fresh Resident Students as members of the Hall Council and the JCRC.
- That Casely Hayford Hall, should continue to receive only male students.
The University Administration entreats all fresh students who will reside in University Halls of Residence, especially Casely Hayford Hall, to observe all rules and regulations governing the operations of the Halls to ensure a peaceful and uninterrupted 2008/2009 Academic Year.
