Mature Students
Mature Students
The University offers admission to Mature Candidates to pursue Arts, Business, Education and Social Sciences Degree Programmes.

- Age should be at least 30 years by 31st December of last year.
Mature candidates appling for B.Ed. (physical education) should be twenty-five (25) years old by 31st December of last year -
TABLE OF CONTENTS Applicants seeking admission as Mature Candidates should enclose a photocopy of birth certificate issued to them not less than five (5) years from the day of submission of admission forms.

A. Minimum Entry Requirements for Mature Entrance Examinations - Age should be at least 30 years by 31st December of last year.
B. An Entrance Examination in:
- General Paper (for all candidates)
- General Paper (including a section in English Language) for all candidates.
- Examinations in Mathematics and English Language for candidates who do not have G.C.E 'O' Level credit passes.
- Interview
Candidates who passes the examination would be ranked and those who fall within the approved quota invited for interview.
Candidates will be required to answer questions from any two of the following subjects: English, History, French, Classics, Music, Religious Studies, Ghanaian Language. Faculty of Social Sciences Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences)
Degree Candidates will be required to answer questions from any two of the following subjects: Geography/Economics/Sociology/History/Mathematics Bachelor of Management Studies Candidates will be required to answer questions in Special Papers for Management Studies and will write an examination in English Language.
Bachelor of Commerce Degree Candidates will be required to answer questions in Special Papers. Bachelor of Science Tourism Candidates will be required to answer questions on Tourism and on any ONE of the following: Geography, Economics, Sociology, History and Mathematics. Bachelor of Arts (Population and Family Life) Candidates will be required to answer questions on Population and any ONE of the following: Geography, Sociology, Economics and Mathematics. Faculty Of Education Bachelor of Education (Physical Education) Five (5) 'O' Level credit passes including English, Mathematics and General Science or Physics and Chemistry and Biology and possession of 2-year Certificate in Physical Education or 3-year in Physical education based Teachers¿ Certificate or 3-year Diploma in Physical education or 4-year Diploma in Physical Education. Candidates will be expected to pass the Mature Students Entrance Examination. P.E. PAPER I ** Human Anatomy and Human Physiology P.E. PAPER II ** Theory of Physical Education P.E. PAPER III ** Practical/Interview Candidates would be subjected to Motor Educability Test Bachelor of Education (Home Economics) * Special Field of Study * General Education There will be two separate papers in the Special Field of Study, one in Clothing and Textiles and the other in Food and Nutrition. Candidates will take only the paper relevant to their chosen fields of study (clothing or Food). Bachelor of Education (Science)/ B.Ed. (Mathematics) * Paper in two subject areas, viz Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics. * General Education Bachelor of Education (Social Studies) * Social Studies Education * Paper in two subject areas: Economics, Geography or History (to be taken in the appropriate Faculty) Bachelor of Education (Social Sciences) * Paper in Economics and Geography (to be taken in Social Sciences Faculty) * Social Sciences Education Bachelor of Education (Arts) * Paper in two subject areas: English Language, Religious Studies, French, History and Ghanaian Languages (to be taken in Faculty of Arts) * Arts Education Bachelor of Education (Psychology or Foundations) * Paper in area of Education to be pursued, i.e. Psychology or Foundations * Paper in two academic subjects from the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences. Bachelor of Education (Primary Education) * Teaching subject (one of the subjects taught at the primary school level) i.e. English, Integrated Science, Social Science, Arts (to be taken in the appropriate Faculty). * Primary Education Methodology. Bachelor of Education (Population and Family Life Education) * Paper in two teaching subjects one of which must be on Population and Family Life Education (POP/FLE) (to be taken in Social Science Faculty). * Paper in Education (i.e. Psychology or Foundations)
