The University of Cape Coast invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, experienced, results-oriented and highly motivated individuals for the following positions: 

1. Director (Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management)

2. Director (Directorate of Human Resource)

3. Director (Directorate of Academic Affairs)

4. Director (Directorate of Legal, Consular and General Services)

5. Director (Directorate of Public Affairs) 

General requirements

Applicants for all positions should have post-graduate qualifications in their respective fields. They should have 10 years of post-qualification senior level experience as practitioners in their fields and have considerable strategic, interpersonal and collegial skills and be able to function within the Higher Education Sector. High-level analytical skills, business sense as well as a deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational issues and challenges in top level University management and administration are critical. Such experience and capacity need not have been gained in the University environment, but must reflect the requisite skills and knowledge. The ideal candidates must be performance driven and keen to achieve results. All positions require that the holder serve on the relevant statutory University Boards and Committees. Interested candidates must have served or must be serving as Deputy Register/Deputy Director or analogous grade in a university or analogous institution.

1.  Director (Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management)

Specific Roles

The applicant shall be the Head of the Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor through the Registrar.  He/She will advise management on the formulation of policies concerning the development, maintenance, acquisition of all physical infrastructure and other related issues such as contract management. He/She will also supervise the implementation of all management policies, ensuring cost efficiency and quality as well as ensuring that project designs conform to current national and international standards and legislations. 

Specific Requirements

A post graduate degree in Building Technology, Architecture, Land Economy, Estate Management or related disciplines. Must be a member of a recognised professional body for architects, engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, or land economists i.e. CIOB, RICS, GIOC, Gh.IE etc

Tenure

The position is full time. It is for a six-year term and is renewable. 

2.  Director (Directorate of Human Resource)

Specific Roles

Reporting to the Registrar, you will head the newly created Human Resource Directorate. You will be involved in the formulation of HR strategy and implementation as well as management of HR operations.

Specific Requirements

Two Year Post-graduate degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology or related disciplines and relevant HR/OD sector experience are required. Membership of a recognised professional human resource body will be an added advantage.

3.  Director (Directorate of Academic Affairs)

Specific Role

Reporting to the Registrar, you will head the Directorate of Academic Affairs. You will ensure the smooth execution of operational matters such as management of student records, admissions, registration, time-tabling, examinations, declaration of results and issuing of transcripts.

Specific Requirements

Two Year Post-graduate degree in Administration in Higher Education, Public Administration or related disciplines and relevant academic sector experience are required.

4.     Director (Directorate of Legal, Consular and General Services)

Specific Roles

Reporting to the Registrar, you will head the Directorate of Legal, Consular and General Services. You will be required to advise the University on all legal matters and represent the University in the Law Courts where necessary. You will be responsible for general services such as fire, printing, consular, and transport services management of the University. Additionally; you will be responsible for advising the University on all disciplinary matters.

Specific Requirements

Two Year Post-graduate degree in Public Administration, Law, International Affairs, Administration in Higher Education, Business Administration, or related disciplines with relevant experience in tertiary education management and administration at a senior level are required.

5.  Director (Directorate of Public Affairs)

Specific Roles

Reporting to the Registrar, you will head the Directorate Public Affairs. You will be responsible for University protocol, organization of official University events, documenting University history, culture and symbols as well as oversight for the University’s Radio Station. You will be the central spokesperson for the University and plan and implement the strategic and operational aspects of the Public Relations and Corporate Affairs of the University.

Specific Requirements

Two Year Post-graduate degree in Public Relations/Affairs, Mass Communication or Journalism with relevant public relations field experience are required. He/ She must be an accredited member of a recognised professional body.

Tenure of Office

The positions, which are full time, are for a four-year term each, renewable for a second term only.
